What do you think is the most important function of any business? SALES. No business, no matter what product or service it caters, can exist if it doesn’t SELL. Which makes the salesman the most valuable employee of every company. He is, after all, the breadwinner of the company. So obviously, every CEO would want his/her sales team to work continuously, put in 100% of their efforts and make no mistakes. And in most cases, they do, but, how much of your sales process is happening without your sales team?


Pete Caputa, VP, Sales at HubSpot said, “Your website talks to way more people than your average salesperson does every day.” Your website engages with more prospects on a daily basis than a sales team could possibly do. So believe me when I say, your website is your best salesperson, and it works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Plus, it will NEVER take holidays, or leave work early, or even sleep at night.


A website is more than just a business card or even a glorified brochure. It represents your brand and shares your story, vision, and your mission. Also, your website plays a central role in your customer acquisition process. Today, buyers search, compare and research before buying a product and this is where, a beautiful, functional and user-friendly website will make the buyer believe in your product, resulting in better sales.  


You’d never send your sales representatives to potential clients without them having complete knowledge of your company and product, right? The same applies to your website. Make sure it clearly represents and states who you are, what you do, how and why you do it.


You can also use tools like analytics to provide your human sales reps with information like from where do visitors land on your website, how much time they spend there, etc to help refine and improve your sales funnel and strategy.


But keep in mind, building and maintaining a website is not a one-time job, you have to continuously improve and update your content.
